Seeking to respond to the current pandemic context, Braga’27 and the Municipality of Braga launched a contest to support the Phonographic Edition of Contemporary Music Interpreters. The music sector has been one of the most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, with its artists and creators seeing their regular activity reduced, especially with regard to live performances. One of the goals of the Braga Cultural Strategy 2020–2030 is the evolution of the cultural sector, providing tools for the growth of local artistic production and creation.
This contest was created to support projects in the fields of Electronic Music, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Rock, and respective subgenres. With four scholarships for Braga musicians, two for € 2,500 and two for € 5,000, we want to contribute so that local artists can develop new musical content that, in the future, we hope for soon, can be presented to the public. The support to be allocated is intended to support costs related to the recording and production of new phonographic works by bands and musicians from Braga.
Applications are open until December 30 and the rules and application form are available here.
The evaluation of the proposals takes place from 4 to 22 January and the results will be made public on 26 January.
