Braga’s Candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2027 is a project that aims to involve the entire community
Between April 15th and May 13th, we launched an Open Call to receive proposals for projects that can be selected and implemented, if the city receives the title.
This call was strongly supported by the community of Braga, with a total of 116 projects submitted!
The projects belong to citizens, cultural operators, institutions, and artists who were born in Braga, or who live or work in the city.
At the moment, the projects are being analyzed and, soon, the date of communication of the selected projects will be announced.
The selection will be based on the ability to fulfill the mission of promoting participatory citizenship and the involvement of communities, in a relationship with the public space, as well as on the adequacy of the projects presented to the general concept of the artistic program that is being elaborated for the Braga’s candidacy for the European Capital of Culture 2027.
The selected projects will be part of the Braga‘27 application dossier, which will be submitted in November this year, and will come to life if Braga is elected European Capital of Culture 2027.
