“Europe and Beyond” is the name of an exhibition consisting of four works in the fields of media art, visual arts, and design from partner cities, such as Clérmont-Ferrand Candidate for European Capital of Culture 2028 (France), Kaunas European Capital of Culture 2022 (Lithuania), Enghien Les Bains (France) and Gwangju (South Korea), UNESCO Creative Cities in Media Arts, and Fortaleza (Brazil), UNESCO Creative City in the area of ​​design.

The opening of the exhibition is scheduled for September 2, at 3 pm, in the Salão Nobre of Theatro Circo, and will be attended by the Mayor of Braga, Ricardo Rio, and a delegation from the French city of Clermont-Ferrand. The delegation will be represented by its Deputy Mayor for Culture, Isabelle Lavest, and will also feature essential names from Clermont-Ferrand’s candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2028, such as Joachim Biehler, Artistic Programme Coordinator, and Claire Delhom, European Dimension Coordinator.

The works from the “Europe and Beyond” exhibition will be on display at Theatro Circo and gnration during the Noite Branca event, on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of September, with free entry.

The work Root by Anne-Sophie Emard, co-curated by Clermont-Ferrand, will be exhibited in the Salão Nobre of Theatro Circo, together with #IssoNãoÉPixação by Vitor Grilo (Brazil), co-curated by the UNESCO Creative City of Fortaleza.

The BLUR 2.0 installations by Jorge Ramos, Anna Kim and Julien Gail-lac (Portugal, South Korea, and France) and Forest Tectonics by Aistė Am-brazevičiūtė (Lithuania), co-curated by Kaunas European Capital of Culture 2022, both will be on display at gnration’s INL gallery.
