The final selection Expert’s Panel report of the Portuguese European Capital of Culture 2027 process is now available.
The international Expert’s Panel, responsible for evaluating the Portuguese applications for the European Capital of Culture 2027, has already shared the final selection report, which you can read here.
The Panel designated the City of Évora as the European Capital of Culture in Portugal in 2027. In this report, you can read the evaluation of the four final candidate cities – Braga, Aveiro, Évora and Ponta Delgada -, explaining the decision and describing the recommendation process.
The Panel comprises eleven international experts: nine appointed by institutions of the European Union (European Parliament, Council, European Commission and Committee of the Regions) and two appointed by the Ministry of Culture of Portugal. Upon publication, the report goes to the Minister of Culture of Portugal for approval of the Panel’s recommendation.
