The pre-selection hearings of the Portuguese cities candidates to the title of European Capital of Culture in 2027 are taking place between the 8th and 10th of March 2022, at the Centro Cultural de Belém, in Lisbon.
The hearings take place in alphabetical order of the name of the cities, before a panel of 10 international members of the jury and two members of the jury appointed by the Portuguese Ministry of Culture, with the delegation from Braga being the second to present themselves.
City delegations are made up of a maximum of ten elements, who orally present the content of their city’s Bid Book and the process of its development, before a panel of 12 judges.
The presentations are followed by a question-and-answer moment, in which the jury asks the city delegations the questions they consider necessary for their decision.
The announcement of the cities that go on to the final phase will be made next Friday, March 11, at a press conference, at Centro Cultural de Belém.
