Of all the plants that were used in this piece, 2000 madrones were given to us by the ANEFA’s Terra de Esperança Project, with the support of the Fundação Galp. These plants were going to be distributed by the Parish Councils of Braga so that they could make our city their home.

With the arrival of a new lockdown in January, we were prevented from making this distribution and, in April, when it was finally possible to carry out this operation, the madrones were in a growth phase where it is not recommended to replant it. We then decided, for the sake of the plants, to let them grow healthily in the Horto Municipal until October, an ideal time to replant it.

In this video, we share with you how these trees are growing and António Vivas, responsible for the Horto Municipal, explains briefly its growth.

Then, with the arrival of autumn, we will resume this distribution, with the certainty of knowing that the 2000 madrones are being taken good care of.
